Description
This beautiful highly polished pewter Cornish Piskie pendant has been handcrafted using recycled tin & copper ( the traditional Cornish alloy known as lead free pewter) in the pretty hamlet of Botallack in West Cornwall.
In traditional folklore, pixies are generally benign, mischievous, short of stature and attractively childlike; they are fond of dancing and gather outdoors in huge numbers to dance or sometimes wrestle through the night.
Piskies are believed to inhabit ancient underground and ancestor sites such as the stone circles , barrows and tin mine workings of West Cornwall .
